2018-19 Season Kicks Off at AEBL High School Tournament of Champions

The Bulldogs Kick Off the New Year at the 2018 AEBL

The Bulldogs start off the new year this weekend as they participate in the 2018 AEBL High School Tournament of Champions. Lincoln will play Saturday, August 18 against Shiloh at 3 PM. A win Saturday would mean a matchup on Sunday, August 19 against the winner of Wheeler and Mountain View.

This weekend's event is the first opportunity to see the 2018-19 version of the Bulldogs. The Dawgs will be led by seniors Elias King, Moulaye Sissoko and MiKale Stephens. King, a 6'9 guard who previously attended Shiloh before transferring to Lincoln last year, committed to Xavier this past summer. While the 6'10 Sissoko and 6'2 play-maker Stephens both remained uncommitted but are two of the most sought after seniors in the country.

This weekend is also a chance to welcome rising freshmen-newcomers Perry Smith Jr and Jalen Carruth. Smith Jr, a 6'8 wing-forward from North Augusta, South Carolina, played up this past summer with Team United's 15U team and was most recently named to the Top 20 All-Star game at the 2018 CP3 Rising Stars Camp. Carruth, a 6'5 guard from Atlanta, helped lead Team Powell this summer and was routinely named a top performer at the MADE Hoops 8th Grade FINALE in Augusta. "We're really excited about the future of our program with both Perry and Jalen. Both are extremely talented young men, but more than anything they are extremely driven and hard-working - as well as being phenomenal people who will represent our program incredibly," said Head Coach Bryan Lippman.

"I'm really excited to give our kids a chance to get out this weekend and have some fun. They've been working hard all summer both in the weight room and on the court, and opportunities like these give them a chance to not only go out and play together but also continue to build that connection between Lincoln and the community" Lippman said. "I think we did phenomenal in our first year, but we're eager to take the next step forward in our building process!"

The Atlanta Entertainment Basketball League, or AEBL, was founded in 2013 as an elite level summer pro-am league for acting street ballers, college athletes, celebrities and tons of NBA stars. The AEBL plays weekly during the summer and is held at KIPP Atlanta Collegiate. For more information on the AEBL, visit them at or follow them on social media @aeblhoops!
